The BERLIN ART INSTITUTE is organizing two exhibitions:

Our project space 404 | BAI will feature works by Sunday Fall, Jahi Kijo Lendor, Ian Kline and Dylan Matsuno under the title ZEBRA MUSIC by POP GUN, an artist-run project space in NYC operated by Gunner Dongieux.

BAI FELLOWS will show a selection of works by former participants: Bashaer Hawsawi, Carlo Brunelli, Iman Irannejad, Madhav Ashok Menon, Mona Sunbol, Myung Urso, Rasha Al-Katta, Youseline Vital among others.

The BERLIN ART INSTITUTE promotes artistic production, discourse, mediation and research, and is dedicated to training and further education in the contemporary context through its various programs. Via international cooperation, the BAI strives for intercultural exchange and a lively, transnational dialogue, and acts as a player in the art, culture, creative, civic, and education sector.

Concept

The BERLIN ART INSTITUTE combines elements of a professional production site, international artist residency, independent art school, and innovative arts incubator for artistic practice, discourse, and research in Berlin.

In addition to the international Studio Program, the BAI offers a Residency Program, Workshops, Master Classes, Portfolio Courses, a Spring Academy, an Arts Incubator, Live Online Courses & Classes, a Friends Program, and the presentation display 404 | BAI.

Location

The studios of the institute are located in the building complex 404 at the listed commercial property “Motorwerk Berlin” in the Berlin district of Weißensee. The prominent head-end building and the production hall are from 1921.

Team

We work together with a pool of international guest lecturers. Regular events with alternating artists, curators, critics, authors etc. facilitate an exchange with actors of Berlin’s contemporary art scene.
