Contemporary Art Practices at Times of Crisis
10th CEI Venice Forum for Contemporary Art Curators
Continental Breakfast 2022

The tenth edition of this meeting dedicated to contemporary art curators from Central Easter Europe and to be held in close connection with the Biennale Arte opening days, will be held on 22 April 2022 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, from 11 am to 3 pm.

The Forum is a CEI Feature Event and a Continental Breakfast project. | It is conceived and organised by the Trieste Contemporanea Committee in cooperation with the CEI–Central European Initiative and in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. | The event is being held under the patronage of the CEI–Central European Initiative, the Regione del Veneto, the Trieste Town Council and the Ca' Foscari University. | It is supported by the CEI, the Regione autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia and the BEBA Foundation of Venice. | The project 'Esso. Shadows Oozing Gold' by Carloni-Franceschetti is supported by the Italian Council (2021), Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity, Italian Minnstry of Culture |

This year's Forum takes place after an unprecedented global pandemic which deeply impacted our lives, while the health of the planet is increasingly affected by human actions and even a war is going on in the heart of Europe. This situation of major concern leads organisers to call the speakers to focus on the contemporary art practices at times of crisis, as asked by Lorenzo Fusi, convenor for Trieste Contemporanea of this edition of the Venice meeting [topic] to 2022 contributors, among which will be Konstantin Akinsha (Ukraine), Cristiano Carloni and Stefano Franceschetti (Italy), Marina Gržinić (Slovenia), Emily Jacir (Palestine), Beral Madra (Turkey), Jarosław Mikołajewski (Poland), Ruth Noack (Germany) and Roberto Paci Dalò (Italy).

The working language will be English. Audiences both in person and online are admitted. There is no fee for participation, but online registration is required.
