The ZVO.ČI.TI so.und.ing DUO series presents:

Jeff Kolar (US) and Eduardo Raon (SI/PT)
Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 8.30pm
(UTC/GMT +1)

Program / Compositions:
Eduardo Raon: On The Drive For Impulsive Actions REDUX (2013)
Laughter, smiling, yawning, fighting and even killing are all socially contagious behaviors that are far less rational than we consider our human nature to be. In this work Raon uses the harp, the daxophone and video combining both his senses of composition and free improvisation to deliver a pungent, emotionally charged performance.

Jeff Kolar: Other Voices (2010)
Other Voices is a series of live performances, print material, and an audio release revolving around radio voices. Voices haunt radio. These voices utilize mono-directional broadcasting: the sender distributes a one-way, closed network path. Other Voices reintroduces radio as an open platform through the use of handmade radio devices and multi-sited broadcasts.

Jeff Kolar and Eduardo Raon: Skip Distance (premiere work, 2015)
Dear Mr. Miss or Mrs,
We kindly invite you to join us on February 10th, 2015, at Kinošiška, Kumuna Hall, to celebrate similarities rather than finding differences; to collaborate, not to compete; to positively and deliberately SKIP DISTANCEs.
Dress code – casual.

Your hosts,
Eduardo Raon & Jeff Kolar

About the artists:
Jeff Kolar is a sound artist and curator working in Chicago, USA. His work, described as 'speaker-shredding' (Half Letter Press) and 'wonderfully strange' (John Corbett), includes cross-platform collaboration, low-powered radio, and live performance. His work often activates sound in unconventional, temporary, and ephemeral ways using appropriation and remix as a critical practice. Jeff is a free103point9 Transmission Artist, and the founder and acting director of Radius, an experimental radio broadcast platform.

Eduardo Raon is a portuguese Harpist and Composer established in Ljubljana.
His activity has had a wide aesthetic range of which contemporary, jazz, experimental, ethnic, noise, pop, retro, rock and electronic music are all part of. In late 2013, he made his solo debut with the album 'The Drive For Impulsive Actions' released by the Lisboa based label SHHPUMA (powered by Clean Feed).

About the project:
In 2015 ZVO.ČI.TI so.und.ing DUO series, which throws a spotlight on music duos, remains tightly focused on opening up contemporary music approaches and combining and connecting home and international musicians. Not unexpectedly, the fact of combining perspectives, methodologies, technologies, and aesthetics of producing new music works brings up the question of the potentials of a dialogically conditioned creativity.

ZVO.ČI.TI so.und.ing DUO series presents independent works and perfrormances of selected authors, rounded off with a co-authored composition. In this way, we get an insight into the heterogeneous aesthetic, political, and personal approaches to music composition as well as into the possible transformations, upgrades, slips, and gaps arising in the space of liminality and overlapping – at a point where singular is replaced by dual. The form of a duo is namely not chosen by the authors themselves, but is proposed from the outside. The invitation is a starting point to be reflected upon as a field of potentiality; through dialogue, exchange, and collaborative work at a distance and live, it emerges and takes shape as a new sound work. It finds and develops new connections, inter-personal and international collaborations and networking, with Ljubljana being the connecting point of these encounters and the heart of the pulse that propels these connections.

We are glad and honored to announce the following duos and performances in The ZVO.ČI.TI so.und.ing DUO series, 2015 edition:
