setup4.org is a new online magazine from the scholarly context of artists' publications. It introduces special topics from the realm of published, disseminated, and publicized art and sets out to support and promote academic work on artists' publications. The magazine is conceived as a source of current and topical information for both specialists and other interested parties.

setup4 is issued twice annually and solely online. Besides contributions oriented to a new thematic point of emphasis, each issue introduces an exemplary archive or collection of artists' publications. Also presented are reviews of books, conferences, events, and exhibitions related to published and multiplied art. Texts will be published in German or English. In the first issue titled 'set up 4 artists´ publications', just recently published, members of the Research Association Artists' Publications present various topics from their research work and thus offer an overview of the association's research activity.

The Research Association Artists' Publications is a group of scholars from the University of Bremen, Jacobs University, University of the Arts Bremen, Research Centre for East European Studies, and the Research Centre for Artists' Publications at the Weserburg│Museum of Modern Art. It is dedicated to conducting foundational research in the area of artists' publications, to establishing the latter as a new academic field, and to ensuring that artists' publications become known to the broader public.
