The basic aim of the study programme is to help students become independent personalities as designers who are able to work in all current and future media and take a serious and critical approach to their responsibilities in social and economic matters.

On the intellectual basis of conceptual thinking, topic research and the development of an awareness of global contexts and a sense of personal responsibility for the forming of our environment, students will learn to work with time-based media, interactive media and print, brand and corporate design, storytelling, photography, illustration and animation, typography and graphic prints, information and exhibition design and sound design.

Soft and hard skills are taught in the context of changing semester themes. Interdisciplinary projects are realised in collaboration with other departments of the University of Applied Arts to expand the methodical skills of the class. Through commissioned projects, students learn to develop professional relations with clients from the areas of culture, public administration and private business. Alumni lectures held by graduates of the class offer further preparation for a professional life after graduation. Workshops and lectures held by national and international experts from various fields enrich the study programme on the levels of craftsmanship, design and intellectualism.
