TheWallArtFair™ was initiated and created by the founders of the DocksArtFair™, an international contemporary art fair which takes place every 2 years in Lyon during the inaugural week of the Biennial of Contemporary Art.
Since its creation in 2007, the DocksArtFair™ has truly made its mark on the calendar of international contemporary art fairs. Its success is largely due to its unique concept of exclusive solo shows at the Biennale.
The yearly periodicity of the DocksArtFair™ was therefore an obvious choice for the Art Fair creators and gallery owners involved. However reproducing exactly the same concept outside of this biennial event seemed unlikely as it has become so intimately linked with the Biennale itself.
Taking into consideration both its success and its intensity, Docks Art Fair therefore decided to create TheWallArtFair™ which is to alternate with the Biennial. The first TheWallArtFair™ will take place in Lyon from 27th – 30th September 2012.
TheWallArtFair™ is an innovative concept and totally typical. It is destined to travel and be installed in different places and dynamic artistic locations like Madrid, Brussels, Turin, London and even further afield, returning back to Lyon every other year, alternating with the DocksArtFair™.
