The Art Text - Writing In and Through the Arts

Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, University of Gothenburg, Sweden

For art researchers and research students on an advanced level. A platform for discussion of what kind of texts and writing are developed within the field of art research. Texts for analysis, documentation, and development of art projects and art research projects. New kinds of essay writing? Let's explore the field together, along the following themes:

Musical & literary composition/poetry/prose
Design
Visual arts


Program:


0900 Presentation by the organisers and Key note by Maria Lind, Director of the Graduate Program at Bard College's Center for Curatorial Studies.

1100-1600 Parallel symposia on Musical composition and poetry/prose, Design, Visual arts.

1300-1400 Common lunch.

1700-1900 Reports, discussion.

19.00-21.00 Common dinner

5 presentations will be selected for each parallel symposium.
by the editors of the inviting magazines / organisers.

Conference fee: 400 Swedish Krona / 40 €.

Please mail applications with a presentation of yourself and a sketch for your presentation (1 page) no later than August 30 2009.

The fact that we will discuss text doesn't mean we exclude what the texts talk about:
sound, image, form etc.
