Detour, a bus ride from all Shanghai to the distinguished guests!

Dear All,

As the ShContemporary and the Shanghai Biennale typhoon get to hit the city's art scene this week, few non-profit initiatives by ArtHub along with many many others are about to make it easier for you to connect with the city's artistic community. See below some of them, and hope to see you around! 

Shanghai Detour 上海游艺图

Coordinated by the major galleries and key oganizations in Shanghai's contemporary art scene, Shanghai Detour 上海游艺图 provides shuttle buses between the fair and rest of Shanghai, along with an art map demarcating the city's museums, commercial galleries and independent art spaces/exhibitions. Available to both local and international art-lovers, the project aims not only to guide you in your creative explorations but also establish a long-term initiative to connect, share and disseminate information about the the Shanghai art community. Watch for the Shanghai Detour 上海游艺图 docents, and bus stops for free bus rides between the ShContemporary (Nanjing Road from Gate No.7) and Biennale site and venues at 50 Moganshan, the Bund, and more. In addition, Arthub welcomes you at its booth at the ShContemporary Art Fair for informal gatherings, and Arthub book presentations.


September 10, 2 pm - Zhao Chuan, an art historian from Shanghai, will talk about his book on the 'Birth of Avantgarde in Shanghai'
September 11, 2 pm - Shanghai-based Curator Biljana Ciric will launch and talk about her book 'Rejected Collection' with CHARTA.
September 12, 2 pm - Birdhead (artists Song Tao and Ji Weiyu) will be on site to sign their limited-edition books.
September 13, 2 pm- Pippa Dennis will present the program for Asia Art Forum, an educational initiative for young collectors, art professionals and enthusiasts. AAF will provide a unique opportunity to understand the emergence and historical development of Chinese contemporary art, as well as issues pertaining to collecting and the complexities of the Chinese art market.

October 22, Christian Marclay- a PERFORMA Commission- with Elliott Sharp, Wu Na, Ben Houge, Bruce Gremo, Yan Jun, and Top Floor Circus.

During the fair, ArtHub booth will host a series of performances by Ciboh, a three-girl Milan-based collective, fusing art, design and daily life. There will also be a preview of of Arthub Accessories to support Arthub's initiatives, a line of objects created in co-operation with Chinese artists.
