Kuenstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral introduces Barbara Wille

What goes around, comes around

Art Forum Berlin 2008, Palais am Funkturm, Stand 116

Saturday, October 31 to Monday, November 3, 2008, daily from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

At the Art Forum Berlin 2008, Kuenstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral, Stiftung Rheinland-Pfalz fuer Kultur (Foundation for Culture, Rhineland-Palatinate), is presenting artist Barbara Wille, a Berlin resident.

Her expansive installation titled 'What goes around, comes around' - conceived exclusively for this event - subtly incorporates the architecture of the venue. A recipient of the Kuenstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral scholarship in 2002, Wille frames the exhibition stand as a membrane in the interstice between inside and outside. The construction she has developed limits the gaze in both directions and conceptualizes the ethereal as an image. Proportionality becomes important and distance or closeness to the things each generates a new perception of the installation. Her sculptural gesture is reminiscent of a kiosk and incidentally exemplifies the artist and the concept of advertisement as a longing for the unattainable. In a word, desire.

We are pleased that in addition to Barbara Wille, 11 more Balmoral scholarship recipients are being represented by their galleries at the Art Forum Berlin.
