WELL CONNECTED – ON CURATORIAL PROCESSES

A Magazine on the Curatorial at the Intersection of Culture and Society

The magazine WELL CONNECTED – ON CURATORIAL PROCESSES investigates the conditions, ambiguities and potentials concerning curatorial agency in times of global commercialisation of culture and its institutions.

With contributions from academics, artists and graphic designers, Issue 1/2012:
SMUGGLERS, ACCOMPLICES AND BORDER CROSSERS, addresses the implications of the curatorial at the intersection of social, institutional and cultural transgressions. Ambiguous tactics and activities – occasionally shady and deceptive – are the main focus of this publication. New connections and assemblages arise in-between the dominant/not dominant, the legal/illegal and the known/unknown – categories which, while on the one hand marking set boundaries, on the other hand open up creative possibilities for the production and communication of knowledge and critique.

With contributions by: Sarah Alberti, Adam Budak, Peggy Buth, Veronica Kaup-Hasler, Stefan Kausch, Ryszard Malarski, Irit Rogoff, Laura Waddington, Clemens von Wedemeyer, Gesa Ziemer
