DEADLINE EXTENDED to 31 July: Painting/Drawing Intensive Led by International Artists in Ireland

LODESTAR | IRELAND 2017 is a 10-day intensive of painting and drawing led by internationally recognised artists and critics from Europe and the US, held at Glenstal Abbey and Castle in the West of Ireland. Founded by painter Denis Farrell as an alternative to traditional academic pressures, Lodestar is a place where willingness to fail is a triumph. The focus is on making, discussion and reflection combined with group and one-on-one critique, workshops and studio visits.

WHO SHOULD APPLY
Lodestar welcomes artists of all levels who have ambition for the work and who are willing to take the creative risks necessary to develop, for those who seek critical input on a body of work to serve as a portfolio for application to graduate programmes, and for painters who seek rigorous and intensive exchange concerning both studio work and critical thinking in a creative and professional environment.

FEES
€2,450 — Includes all guest talks, individual and group critiques, evening events, excursions, closing showcase and dinner, private accommodation, and meals (excludes flights and airport transfers).
