In 2016 we expand our artists-in-residence program with new partners on board - the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw and the Artist-in-Residence Program A-i-R Wro run within the framework of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016. We look for young and middle-aged Austrian artists working with video, installation, performance, public space, digitization and archiving in relation to new forms of distribution. The residence focuses on creative processes and mutual exchange. The elected artists are free to discover Wrocław, the European Capital of Culture, to continue their previous projects or develop new ones, but they necessarily have to interact with the WRO's audiences. These interactions may take form of an artist talk, workshop or other activities fitting our Art Mediation program.
What we offer:
Thanks to financial contribution of our partners, the artist-in-residence will be offered a scholarship, a travel cost refund and a material cost refund in total amount of 8500 PLN. The elected artist will spend one month living in a single-room apartment and working at the WRO Art Center. We will provide the artist-in-residence with a support of logistic, technical and curatorial assistance and the access to the audiovisual collection of Polish and international media art. The artist will be invited to participate in current activities carried out at the WRO Art Center; we will also take care of proper documentation of the residence project and its international promotion via wrocenter.pl
