Sigurdur Gudmundsson, Dancing Horizon - Special edition

Dancing Horizon is a comprehensive collection of the photographic work of Sigurdur Gudmundsson witch are one of the best known Icelandic artworks.The special edition of this beautiful book comes in a numbered edition of 50 copies signed by the artist. Each copy uniquely bound and stamped, making each copy unique.

A comprehensive collection of the photographic work of Sigurdur Gudmundsson made during a period in which he focused mainly on the medium of photography. Characterized by playfulness and humor, the photographic works represent human existence and classic ideas of philosophy and art through one man's interactions with his surroundings. Over eighty artworks are featured in the collection, along with previously unpublished studies and works that have seldom been exhibited or reprinted in books.

During his long and fruitful career, Sigurdur Gudmundsson has created an array of works in different media, some of which have become iconic in contemporary European art history. These works have been shown in numerous international exhibitions, and many can be found in public collections throughout Europe, the United States and elsewhere.

The book was edited by curator Kristín Dagmar Jóhannesdóttir. It includes an essay written by Dutch art critic, Lily van Ginneken.
