CoCA Sketchbook 2
Marginalized: Edges and Gutters

CoCA is delighted to offer our members the CoCA Sketchbook, a CoCA publication with (mostly) blank pages for notes and sketches. The second in a series, Marginalized: Edges and Gutters, will thematically explore what it means to exist on the periphery and literally push artwork to the boundaries of the printed page.

This call explores what it means to exist on the periphery. Selected artwork will bleed off the edges, fit in the margins, or be intentionally censored in the center of the page. Artists from a wide range of perspectives and backgrounds are encouraged to submit work which expresses the concept of marginalization in our communities, politics, galleries, and institutions. By redacting areas of visual information in the printing process, the catalog seeks to start a dialogue addressing how voices are seen, heard, and represented.

'It is a very exciting project. It helps me think about my work from a new perspective. I am looking forward to participating in more collaborative projects with CoCA.' -- Zihan Liang, Sketchbook 1
