Few more days to apply for residencial modules grants at UNIDEE - University of Ideas

Calls for Residencies & Grants Opportunities at UNIDEE – University of Ideas, Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto, Biella – Italy

UNIDEE - University of Ideas is an educational programme investigating the relationship between art and the public sphere and combining theory with practice.
Through a new programme based on a weekly research and project laboratory under the guidance of a mentor and the active participation of a guest, the residency modules developed for 2016 focus on three new macro topics wich are: research, gift and alteration.


CALL FOR FIVE WEEKLY RESIDENTIAL MODULES GRANTS & ONE PRODUCTION PRIZE WORTH € 3000,00 - in collaboration with Illycaffè S.p.A.
Residency period: variable, April 18th – July 15th 2016
Deadline for submissions: March 14th 2016, 5 pm CET

This open call is to partake in joint grant supported by Illycaffè S.p.A. for five weekly residential modules developed by UNIDEE - University of Ideas and Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto, Biella - Italy. The five selected participants will take part to a graphic competition for one Production Prize worth € 3000,00 for funding research and production of project presented in the application.

GRANTS OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE TO: Designing while Walking, Walking while Designing, A WEEKLY RESIDENTIAL MODULE LED BY MARTINO GAMPER - in collaboration with Fondazione Zegna
Residency period: June 6th – June 10th 2016
Deadline for submissions: April 1st 2016, 11pm CET

This open call is to partake in Designing while Walking, Walking while Designing a weekly residential module with the mentorship of Martino Gamper and guest Visible (Matteo Lucchetti and Judith Wielander) developed under the umbrella of UNIDEE - University of Ideas with the support of Fondazione Zegna.

A week of exploration and wandering on the hills of Oasi Zegna in Trivero (Piedmont region) experimenting group and individual dynamics, which feed creative processes. The aim is to design an object or situation that adds new thinking, interaction and behaviour to the Oasi.

A joint jury together with Martino Gamper will select n.8 participants and will attribute residency grants to participants resulting on the first 4 places of the final list of selected candidates, as follows:
FULL GRANTS: provided to two participants resulting on the 1st and 2nd places of the final selection list.
HALF GRANTS: provided to two participants resulting on the 3rd and 4th places of the final selection list. The participation fee is 290,00 euro.
FULL FEE: participants resulting between the 5th and 8th places of the final selection list.
The participation fee is 570,00 euro.

CALL FOR TWO LONG RESEARCH-BASED RESIDENCIES

Residency period: two months long unfunded residency, during Spring or Fall 2016
Applications are accepted all the time during the current year.

The selected Residents through the Research-based Residency Call can take part at UNIDEE - University of the Ideas during Spring Term (May-July), profiting of the unique opportunity to be involved in 'Arte al Centro', main event organised by Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto scheduled on June 24th, 2016, or during Fall Term (Sep-Nov), a particularly stimulating period at Cittadellarte, where the selected Residents will have the chance to encounter the art scene in Piedmont region during art fair Artissima and its collateral events taking place in Turin.

The Research-based Residency is unfunded. The programme fee for 2016 is set at € 6.000 for two months and includes accommodation, residency coordination, attendance to two weekly residential modules, small budget for project production.
UNIDEE - University of Ideas will be at hand to assist applicants with funding applications.
