Te Tuhi is seeking its next Curator of Contemporary Art.

Te Tuhi is one of New Zealand's foremost contemporary art spaces and a leader in supporting experimental practice. Te Tuhi has a growing international reputation for its ambitious programme, one characterised by risk-taking with a strong awareness of social, political and environmental issues.

With annual visitation of over 170,000, Te Tuhi provides opportunities for artists with a curatorial strategy that spans showcasing local emerging artists to producing projects by leading national and international figures. Our strategic approach also prioritises contemporary Māori and Pacific art practice.

The Curator leads the delivery of the artistic vision for Te Tuhi and provides creative direction and leadership to all aspects of Te Tuhi's work.

The Curator manages an annual programme of at least twelve exhibitions a year, with accompanying public programmes and publications. At least half of the artworks exhibited will be new commissions, sited both within the Te Tuhi premises in Pakuranga and throughout Auckland. The role affords a unique opportunity to explore a range of themes while linking artistic investigation to the diverse cultural contexts of Auckland.

Application close on Friday 9 December 2016.
