Building on the success of the inaugural MAC International 2014, MAC International 2016 is an exhibition project and art prize that will present the very best of contemporary visual art practice across all disciplines from artists worldwide.

The exhibition, made up of a shortlisted group of artists selected by a respected international jury of curators, will be staged across all 3 of the MAC's galleries from October 2016 to January 2017. Further to this, the substantial Ulster Bank prize of £20,000 will be awarded to one artist deemed to have made an outstanding contribution to the project. This is the largest art prize in Ireland and one of the few major prizes in the UK.

Submissions are now open for professional artists working in any country internationally to apply, however, those in full or part-time study at undergraduate level are not eligible to enter at this time.

Closing date for applications is 30 April 2016. For more information and to apply please visit www.themacinternational.com

Jury:

Marta Dziewanska (Curator and Writer, Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw)
Katerina Gregos (Art Historian, Curator, and Writer, based in Brussels)
Hugh Mulholland (Senior Curator, the MAC, Belfast)

MAC International is generously supported by Ulster Bank.

The project is also made possible thanks to core funding from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
