The Institut des hautes études en arts plastiques (Iheap) is the educational branch of the Biennale de Paris and a post-graduate institute for research and experimentation in art. Iheap offers to the participants - 'sessionists' - a course of study that aims to liberate them from the inherited ideas of 20th century art history, and proposes an inquiry into the crucial issues of 21st century art, whose history is now unfolding and in which they might eventually participate.

The Program
The course of study is completed in one academic year and is composed of work sessions mixing practice and theory, as well as an individual activity reports and the presentation of a specific project, with the purpose of demonstrating the maturation of each participant's research.
