Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival in partnership with Northern Film & Media are delighted to announce a new opportunity for filmmakers and visual artists from anywhere in the world to submit a proposal to create a new moving image work.

The new commission will be premiered at the 10th edition of the internationally acclaimed Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival in September 2014.

Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival is a celebration of the art of film, set on the border between England and Scotland and with a global remit. Northern Film & Media is a screen-based media and creative development agency based in North East England, committed to driving film, TV and digital arts projects internationally.

This project is supported by Arts Council England and the European Regional Development Fund through Northern Film & Media's arts programme.

Together, we invite visual artists and filmmakers to submit proposals in response to the Festival theme of Border Crossing. Proposals may be for projected, installed or screened work, to be made either for single or multi-channel presentation.

The selected proposal will be awarded £5,000 GBP in artist/production fees, and installation costs will be covered in addition.

For further information, please go to where you will find the full guidelines and an online form. It is free of charge to enter.

The deadline for proposals is 11am BST (GMT+1) Wednesday 28th May 2014.
