Opening Gerard Herman
Kalisj

As though he were a contemporary Dr Livingstone, fascinated by humans and nature, Gerard Herman (b. 1989) explores the landscape in and around Aalst for few months time. In his own unadulterated style, he makes a nature study of this peculiar metropolis and its unique identity. With a candid perspective he goes on an exploration along the banks of the Dender, over the Bolleweg and deep into the raw territories of the Osbroekpark.

Opening Frank&Robbert Robbert&Frank
A Bit Beyond PINGPONG

Robbert&Frank Frank&Robbert work associatively. They fire ideas off each other and bounce them back and forth. They 'Ping-Pong' with concepts/ objects and thus transcend the individual ego.

+ concert Gerard Herman & Marc Matter
Gerard Herman draws, paints, creates books, music and radio shows. With his free jazz group, Sheldon Siegel (with Gino Coomans and Erik Heestermans) as well as when performing solo, he likes to share the stage – thus now for the first time with Marc Matter. Matter plays in The Durian Brothers and is part of the Institut Für Feinmotorik, a group of German artists who since 1997 work with prepared turntables without the use of vinyl. As a solo artist, his recent works are usually with spoken word and vocal samples.

+ action Trippen

An action organized by Gerard Herman during the opening event, in collaboration with Aalst artist, Yann Bronder, following a competition of Jan Louies.
