The connections between economics and art are not straightforward. On the one hand, we have a pragmatic, cool-headed, calculation-based discipline; on the other - a universe of boundless artistic imagination. However, when these two domains meet, the result may be very interesting indeed. Economics is a source of inspiration for many contemporary artists, frequently, provoking them to pursue non-obvious creative activities. Currently, in the era of the global economic crisis, artists' voices become all the more important, whilst the topics they raise play a key role in the debate on the state of our civilisation.

The exhibition will be accompanied by an extensive bilingual (Polish and English) publication, discussing the most fundamental problems in the relationship between economics and art. The texts were written by, among others, Edwin Bendyk, Jerzy Hausner and Georgina Adam (The Art Newspaper editor and Financial Times correspondent).
