The catalogues feature recent projects of the German project group REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT realized in Europe, the United States and Australia. Substancial texts contextualize the work and introduce RG´s ideas about a functional concept of art and the (Re)Socialisation of Art. The theorist and writer Suzana Milevska contributes her text: Positioning Art's Role in Society: Agency and Reverse Recuperation in the work of REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT. Her research and curatorial interests include post colonial critique in arts, visual culture, feminism and gender theory. She curates exhibitions, conferences, long-life learning and other participatory projects. Her research and curatorial project The Renaming Machine consists of series exhibitions and conferences discussing the politics of renaming and overwriting memory in art and visual culture. In 2012 Suzana Milevska was awarded as the best emerging curator with the Alice Award. In the same year she received the Igor Zabel Award for Culture and Theory.

In RG's projects contemporary art has the role to reflect developments in society and to open up new activity spaces for it's shaping. A society with a growing awareness for it's social, economic and ecologic risks offers new chances for an art in the public interest that aims towards active participation. REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT tackles this task and assigns art practice to an active role in the design of social change. As visual artists who make a topic of social developments in their projects, they apply methods from the fields of organizational development and qualitative social research.

The catalogues can be ordered via www.reinigungsgesellschaft.de or www.vfmk.de
