THIS IS A TAKEOVER
Four artists take over outLINE Amsterdam

Four artists take over the surgery building of the former Amsterdam hospital Het Burgerziekenhuis from 23 November until 15 December. Marije Vermeulen, Marieke Coppens, Annegret Kellner and Cindy Moorman each take over the space for a weekend with a solo exhibition and guest appearances.

THIS IS A TAKEOVER starts on Saturday the 23rd of November. This first weekend Marije Vermeulen will transform the space into a whirling carousel of colour and patterns with a mural specially designed for outLINE. The subsequent weekend (Nov 30 - Dec 1), visitors are taken in a work on conjunction, control and time by Marieke Coppens. In December 2012 Coppens found an army parachute on the pavement of a law firm in Amsterdam. The parachute forced itself into a new work. Then (7-8 Dec) the herbarium of Annegret Kellner overgrows outLINE. Plants are vacuum-packed, cast in cement, brushed and pressed, cut and dried. Plantenasiel (Rachelle Klaassen) will interview visitors about their experiences with dead plants and translates these stories into drawings. Cindy Moorman closes THIS IS A TAKEOVER with a performance (14 Dec ). With a choir of 30 singers she will they create a moment of temporary disappearance .

Sunday 15 December 19.00 hrs. the series of exhibitions will conclude with a dinner. During the dinner there will be a lecture and the possibility of talking to the artists about the exhibitions.
