Hablar en Arte presents: Curators' Network

Curators' Network is a platform for emerging European cultural agents — artists, curators and art professionals — to connect and collaborate.

Till now, Curators' Network is made up by curators and cultural managers of Spain, the Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary and Poland. We have detected in our home countries a pattern that we have baptised 'Island Phenomena': Local artists and local curators are working closely together, but although their exhibitions and artworks are highly interesting and competitive, they usually remain hidden to the rest of the art-world, because they lack methods of international promotion. Curators' Network is our response to this 'Island Phenomena'.

The working method of the network is very simple:
• Every member of the network invites the other members to his home-country and gives them an insight about the local contemporary art scene. Special emphasis is placed on artists, agents and organisations whose projects are innovative and creative but who still did not have the opportunity to present their works on an international level.
• Furthermore, the network will be setting up a database which contains the detailed information of the reviewed artists and the participating professionals, which will be on public display on www.curators-network.eu. This register has the intention to grow and to be only the core of a database on young contemporary European arts.

We invite all artists, curators and cultural agents to come to Madrid and participate and meet with the members of the network and the other national and international cultural agents. Program will come soon!
