International Seminar on the Authentification of Artworks and the Prevention of Forgery

The aim of the Fundacio Gala-Salvador Dali in organizing this Seminar and the subsequent publication in book form of the papers presented here, is to contribute to the cataloguing, protection and furthering of the artistic heritage.

These sessions afford an exceptional opportunity to share and discuss the experiences of leading international specailists in their task of authenticating works of art and conbatting forgery.

In addition to the expertise involved in authenticating or cataloguing works of art with the requisite artistic and forensic rigour, the Seminar will also engage in depth with issues that have received relatively little attention in the specialists literature to date, such as the autentication of graphic works and sculptures and the use of innovative legal instruments in the fight against forgery and fraud in the art market today.

The Seminar is conceived as a forum for personal and professional debate and exchange between the invited speakers, members of Europe's museological community and representatives of the cultural authorities.
