On the occasion of the fourth edition of ROMA – The Road to Contemporary Art, KALEIDOSCOPE presents KALEIDOSCOPE ARENA, a dedicated space that will host panels, events, and performances in the public area of the fair at MACRO Testaccio, Rome from May 6 to May 8, 2011. Created and designed by artist Andrea Sala in collaboration with architect Beatrice Borasi, KALEIDOSCOPE ARENA is a structure taking over more than one hundred square meters, set in the courtyard of MACRO Testaccio, that will host a mini-festival devoted to three key cities of contemporary art: Rome, Paris and Los Angeles. Each of them will be the focus of an intense day of panels, performances, and projections that will involve artists, curators, critics, and museum directors, giving all fair visitors the chance to interact with important figures of the international art scene. These events will be complemented by a daily newspaper distributed to fair visitors, which will provide a timetable of the program as well as detailed background about each city's art scene.
