LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Artists : Latifa Echakhch, Laurent Grasso, Bertrand Lavier, Philippe Parreno, Julien Prévieux, Fabien Rigobert.

At the occasion of its 17th Anniversary, the Museum of Fine Arts of Kaohsiung (Taiwan's second biggest city) is organizing an exhibition of artworks belonging to the Frac Nord-Pas de Calais. Exceptional artworks of six French artists, belonging to different generations and working with a variety of media will be presented in Taiwan.

The title of the exhibition « Love at first sight » refers to the fact that for most of the selected artists it's the first time their work is shown in Taiwan. So also for the local public i twill be the first chance to discover these creations.

The Frac Nord-Pas de Calais (located in Dunkirk – France) was founded by the Ministry of Culture and the Regional Government in order to develop contemporary art in the north of France. Its objective is to build up a collection dedicated to international contemporary art and to show these artworks as widely as possible by developing and nurture an international network, by producing travelling exhibitions or by lending works to other institutions.

The present exhibition co-organized with the Museum of Fine Arts of Kaohsiung and supported by the French Institute has to be considered within this context.
